Women's organizations are essential because they serve as vital platforms for advocating gender equality and addressing unique challenges that women face. These organizations create a supportive community where women can connect, share experiences, and empower each other. They play a crucial role in amplifying women's voices in various sectors, advocating for policy changes, and promoting women's rights and opportunities. Women's organizations help drive societal change and promote inclusivity. They also provide valuable resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities, helping women advance in their careers and personal lives. Ultimately, these organizations are vital catalysts for progress toward a more equitable and just society.

WOMEN

IN TECH

In the U.S., women remained underrepresented in the tech sector, accounting for around 26% of the computing workforce, according to data from the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) and the Bureau of Labor Statistics. This gender gap extended beyond the workforce, as women were also less likely to pursue computer science and related degrees in higher education.

On a global scale, the gender gap in technology was a widespread issue. A report from the World Economic Forum indicated that, as of 2021, only 12% of professionals in the global artificial intelligence (AI) workforce were women. Similarly, women were underrepresented in leadership roles within tech companies worldwide.

Silicon Valley, often considered the heart of the tech industry, faced its own set of challenges in achieving gender diversity. While many tech giants based in the region have launched diversity and inclusion initiatives, the industry continued to struggle with achieving gender parity at all levels. Despite efforts to bridge the gap, women remained underrepresented in technical roles and leadership positions within Silicon Valley companies.
